The Honda Civic: King of the Compact Class
The Honda Civic is known for many things, all of which appeal to drivers of all stripes. Affordability. Dependability. Agility. Fuel efficiency. Longevity. Need we go on?
In addition to those key attributes, the Civic manages to be both sensible and fun to drive. It sports a compact stature without being cramped on the inside. It doesn't skimp on features, from comfort to tech to safety.
Oh, and it's pretty easy on the eyes, too.
All things considered, it's hard to look at the Civic and not see a winner.

What's New on the 2023 Honda Civic?
Honda Civic vehicles are among the most dependable on the roads. One reason why people love these models so much is that Honda consistently upgrades its vehicles. As for the 2023 Honda Civic, there were no significant changes. However, the 2022 version had a full redesign. That year, the Civic got a redesigned body and interior. The wheelbase became 1.4 inches longer, and the rear track became 0.5 inches wider. At this time, the 7.0 touch screen became standard, though the Touring model offers an even larger 9.0-inch touch screen. The Touring trim also got an upgraded stereo system in 2022.Â
The Civic comes with two powertrains: a 2.0-liter engine that is standard on the LX and Sport trims, and the turbocharged 1.5-liter engine found on the EX and Touring.
The Civic is available in four trims: LX, Sport, EX, and Touring.
A Brief History of the Honda Civic
Introduced to the North American market for the 1973 model year, the Civic quickly took its spot as the compact car to beat. With its affordable price tag, excellent fuel efficiency, and Honda's legendary reliability, the Civic appealed to a wide range of car shoppers.
Perhaps not surprisingly, the Civic has undergone quite a few changes over its long lifetime thus far, including various body styles, trim levels, engine sizes, and transmission configurations.
Today's models continue to prioritize affordability, fuel efficiency, and reliability, and while they have gained plenty of ground in terms of standard safety equipment and technological advancements, at heart the Civic remains the benchmark to which other compact cars aspire.
